Cheat on Your Diet

October 17th, 2009

Weight loss is a difficult job. You have to change your whole way of life around and be motivated to stick to your intention to get results. You also have to be patient, which many of us find challenging when we are hungry. Unfortunately, results don’t occur overnite. And you’ve got to be careful not so eat too little or too much-either way you might cock up your metabolic rate and finish up spending a complete bunch of time and effort for no payoff.

I remember stepping on the scale plenty of times and seeing no change after weeks had gone by. I marvelled how this could be when I was eating so a lot less and being so stern about what I was eating. I told myself, I already know the way to maintain this weight and eat what I need, so if that is’s all I’m going to do, why continue beating myself down for the same results? What I learned was I was eating too little. My body was storing everything I was eating thinking it was starving to death.

So, my advice is to cheat on your diet. Seriously. Cheat on your diet. Only , do it in a controlled way. Set aside a pair meals a week, or a “free” meal and a “free” dessert each week, or whatever works for you to have your fave meal, dessert, or whatever you’re craving. It’ll keep you sane, and help you stick to your diet because you will have this day to look forward to again, and also it will stop your body from doing the exact opposite of what you need it to do.
